Hi guys, great to hear from you, thanks for all the questions!

I get to school by foot, in our school we have computer technology. No, I’ve not heard of coco pops. I have four brothers and five sisters. I am 15 years old. My favourite lesson is history. Yes, I do enjoy school. My hobby is dancing. My favourite sport is football.

Yes, we do have nice teachers. Yes, I like Uganda. On the weekend I play football, play gems and I read. Our summer holiday only lasts one month. Yes, we have lots of exams, usually at the beginning of each term. My favourite food is chapati and beans.

I would really like to ask you some questions now. Flo, what do you do on the weekend? Hi Owen, how many geography lessons do you have a week? Maisie, how do you describe ballet? Lucas, are you looking forward to the world cup? Antonia, which football team do you support?

Hi guys, thanks for all the questions, its great to hear from you!

Yes, I do get homework from my teachers. We have many lessons including physics biology and chemistry. I play football in my spare time. I wake up at 6:30am. When I’m older I’d like to become a doctor.

My favourite subject is English. We are 23 in our class. I do enjoy school, it is very interesting. Yes, I do enjoy school, its very interesting. Yes, I have travelled out of Uganda. I used to have a pet, but then it died. Yes, I have good access to water.

I get to school by a motorcycle, in Uganda we have motorbike taxis that you can hire, we call them boda boda. I don’t know much, except for your football teams. The weather in Uganda is usually very sunny, but we have rainy season when it will rain very hard. Yes, we have nice teachers.

I hope that I can now ask you some questions to find out about England. Kingsley, what team do you support in the world cup? Who is your best player? Group 3, meet Ronyo

 

Hi guys, Ronyo Noah here, thanks for the questions!

I get to school by taxi and it takes me a while to get there. When I’m older I want to be a lawyer, I have one brother and three sisters. I do have pets, I have a dog and hens. In my free time I play football and revise from my books. No, I don’t like David Beckham because I’m not his fan.

We start school at 8 in the morning and we finish at 3.30pm. We have many subjects but my favourites are mathematics and english. My worst lesson is physics. Yes, I like music but in my free time. Yes, I like my school because it offers good meals and education not like the other schools in Jinja. What I like about Uganda is the beautiful vegetation. Sometimes I do enjoy school.

I would really like to learn a little more about you. Charlie, what do you like about your school?

Group 2, meet Gulam

 

Hello guys, thanks for all the questions. I hope the answers help you know more about Uganda.

I have 2 sisters and one elder brother. I have a cat, a puppy and I keep some fish. In my spare time I read books or sometimes I play football. I enjoy school because I learn things everyday. I get to school on foot because I live near school.

I play the trumpet, it is very good. We are around twenty students in our class. My favourite foods are beans, chapati, meat and chicken. Yes, I like sports very much, I like swimming and I like watching football and I support England. When I’m older I’d like to be a doctor. I love Uganda because it has good weather, beautiful lakes and green grass. Yes, I have 5 friends who are both girls and boys. Yes, they are strict on us because they want us to pass. My favourite lessons are Maths, Biology, Chemistry and English. Yes I like my school uniform it is very good and beautiful.

Hi guys, thanks for all the questions!

I have many lessons, but my favourites are Mathematics and Art. My school day starts at 8 and finishes at 3.30. School is important to me because we learn new things, as well as learning how to get new friends and be obedient. There are around twenty in our class, but it changes often. No, St James’ doesn’t have music lessons. I have two meals a day.

I do like football and my favourite player is Wayne Rooney. I do watch the world cup on television. I like our school uniform because I fit well with it. I have four brothers and three sisters. I have two big cows and one goat. I would like to become a doctor or a lawyer.

Hello, my name is Abdirashid, and I am 15 years old. I was born in Somalia, but I came to Uganda in 2008. I love films and my favourite is Bad Boys

Hi, my name is Nankya Marybeth I am a Ugandan but I was born in Burundi. I enjoy reading books and by favourite book is Oliver Twist. I also like music and my favourite artists are Jose Chameleon, Beyonce and Backstreet Boys

Hi, my name is Ronyo Noah, I was born in Sudan but I moved to Uganda in 2003. I really like playing sports and my favourites are probably basketball, football and volleyball.

Hello, my name is Sharron Kelley and I am 14 years old. I like listening to music and my favourite band is Westlife and my favourite song is Queen of My Heart.

Hello, my name is Gulam Abdallah, although I was born in India I came to Uganda in 2002. I have two sisters, one is younger than me and the other is older than me. I enjoy watching football and I support Arsenal, my favourite player is Walcott.

GROUP PROFILE
Henry: Hello. I love football and I play at academy level for Yate town.
Ollie: I am really looking forward to the World cup. I am half Bulgarian, half British.
James: I love drawing and playing computer games in my spare time
Milo: I am 12 years old. I am half English, half Irish.

We all have six lessons a day which last for 50 minuets. We have games on a Monday – this is the best lesson of the week. Our tutor group has 27 students in it. We are looking forward to our summer holidays!
